Our aim is to improve the health of all people living in the Western Sydney Local Health District and reduce avoidable hospitalisations.
Population Health works with people and organisations in the local district to create healthy environments, policies and programs that support healthy choices. We identify and minimise public health risks to the community and develop, implement and evaluate community based programs that improve and maintain population health.

The Western Sydney Primary Health Network (operated by WentWest) is focused on addressing both regional and national health challenges. Together with health professionals, partners from both the health and hospital sector, consumers and the broader community, we seek to identify gaps and commission solutions for better health outcomes.
Diabetes NSW & ACT is Australia’s largest member-based charity where our mission is a life without the complication of diabetes. We work to improve the day-to-day lives of people living with diabetes by providing access to education, information, programs, advocacy and services designed to help people better manage their diabetes.

We assist and work with senior citizens so they lead a physically and mentally healthy and happy life. We help fulfil their social needs and assist senior citizens in accessing assistance and services from local, state and federal government and non-government agencies and bodies.
The NSW Government is helping kids get into sport and fitness with the Active Kids program. All school-enrolled children will be eligible for a $100 Active Kids voucher annually over the next four years.
The voucher can be used with any approved Active Kids provider to help cover costs towards registration, participation and membership fees for sport, fitness and active recreation.
Families can apply for and use their voucher at any time within the calendar year (1 January to 31 December).
Active Living NSW was established in April 2017 as a partnership between NSW Ministry of Health and the National Heart Foundation – NSW Division to support the physical activity and healthy built environment deliverables of the NSW Healthy Eating and Active Living Strategy. It continues key pieces to promote active living through influencing the physical and social environments in which communities live.
Active Parramatta is an initiative of City of Parramatta Council to promote continued participation in health, fitness and lifelong learning programs across the Parramatta LGA. We strive to deliver high quality programs so residents, workers and visitors of Parramatta can live healthier, happier lives.
Programs include discounted fitness classes, free school holiday activities and the free Active Parramatta Van mobile service.

We are a group of like-minded walking enthusiasts working with councils, Department of Planning & Open Spaces and National Parks & Wildlife Service to proof-walk, map and distribute information on 1,290 kilometres of walking routes throughout Greater Sydney. We recently completed the inaugural Great West Walk which has been delivered by Blacktown City Council, City of Parramatta Council, Penrith City Council. NPWS and Western Sydney Parklands. We aim to progressively proof-walk and document a metropolitan-wide network of walking routes based on the Green Grid.

DOMTRU research and practice looks at prevention of obesity and diabetes, prevention of complications among those with diabetes and studies the mechanisms behind the causes and development of obesity and diabetes and their complications.
